Picatinny rail for Husqvarna
Husqvarna Vapenfabriks AB's roots date back to 1689, when King Karl XI ordered the establishment of a state rifle factory in Huskvarna. It is one of the oldest continuous weapons histories in Scandinavia, and many Husqvarna rifles are still in active hunting use.
It is precisely their age that makes Husqvarna interesting when choosing a Picatinny rail. Many rifles have had ring bases, older claw bases, or custom-made mounts, which can affect both hole spacing and contact surface.
Husqvarna model and receiver shape
Husqvarna covers several model lines that must be distinguished when choosing a mount. A rail must fit the specific model and receiver shape, not just the name Husqvarna.
If the rifle has been in the family for a long time, the original model designation may have been lost in common parlance. In this case, measurement is often faster and more accurate than trying to guess based on age or appearance.
Many classic Husqvarna models are built on well-known bolt action systems from the period. This may explain why certain measurements seem familiar, but it does not exempt from measuring the individual rifle.
Check the A/B/C measurementsand see if the receiver is flat, curved, modified, or previously machined. This is often where the difference between a suitable rail and a return item arises.
Material and mounting
Steel often suits older Husqvarna rifles with their classic weight and appearance, while aluminum may be relevant for a lighter hunting rifle. The choice between steel and aluminumshould be based on optics, balance, and the rifle's use.
Use blue threadlocker, tighten the screws evenly, and avoid forcing the rail down against the receiver. When mounting a Picatinny railon older rifles, it is more important that the rail is mechanically correctly seated than that the screws are tightened hard.
