Collection: Picatinny rails for Mauser

Mauser ranges from classic '98 systems to modern M03, M12, and M18 models. Always choose a rail based on the specific Mauser model and not just the name Mauser.

Use the A/B/C measurements to check the fit before purchasing.

Picatinny rail for Mauser

Mauser has its roots in Oberndorf am Neckar and is especially associated with the Mauser 98 action from 1898. The design has left an enormous mark on hunting and military rifles, but today the Mauser name covers much more than a single mounting option.

The most important thing is to distinguish between classic Mauser systems and modern Mauser models. An M03, M12 or M18 should be chosen based on its own model and receiver, not on assumptions about older Mauser geometry.

Mauser 98, M03, M12 and M18

The Mauser 98 is a historical reference point, but modern Mauser rifles can have completely different mounting surfaces and hole spacings. Therefore, the rifle's model designation must be the first step, and the physical measurements must confirm the choice.

For older rifles, you should also be aware of previous gunsmithing work. Many Mauser rifles have been rebuilt, drilled, tapped or modified over decades, and this can change the prerequisites for a new rail.

Check the A/B/C dimensionsand the shape of the receiver before ordering. This is the safest method when the same brand name covers both classic systems and newer constructions.

Heavy optics, night optics and material

Mauser rifles are often used with everything from classic hunting scopes to heavy night optics. If the optics are heavy, the choice of material becomes more practical: steel and aluminiummust be evaluated based on weight, recoil, balance and how robust the setup needs to be.

MOA cant is only relevant if the scope and shooting distance require it. For hunting at normal distances, a flat rail is often simpler, while an MOA cantcan provide more adjustment range in certain long-range setups.

Clean threads and contact surfaces, use blue threadlocker and tighten with uniform torque. Correct mounting of the Picatinny railis especially important when the rifle is older or has been previously modified.
